Achievement Recognition
Tiger Cub badge is for boys who are 7 years old who or who are in the 1st grade.
Bobcat badge is earned after Tiger Cub rank, but before all other ranks. If a boy joins scouting after the Tiger Cub he must earn the Bobcat badge before receiving any other award.
Wolf badge is for boys 8 years old or who are in the 2nd grade.
Bear badge is for boys 9 years old or who are in the 3rd grade.
Webelos badge is for boys 10 or 11 years old or who are in the 4th or 5th grades.
Boys earn the Arrow of Light badge after completing the Webelos badge, usually in their second year. Highest Cub Scouting award.
Boy can also earn the Akela Award, under the auspices of the Northern NJ Council.
Achievement Emblems
Tiger Cub Belt Totem: A Tiger paw with 4 strands for beads earned for completion of Tiger Cub advancement and elective requirements;
· White bead earned for family activities
· Orange bead earned for den activities
· Black Bead earned for Go and See It activities
· Tiger Track Beads – earn 1 for each 10 add’l elective projects completed.
· Yellow bead earned for each 3 Wolf achievements. Once all 4 beads earned, the Wolf badge is presented.
· Red bead earned for each 3 Bear achievements. Once all 4 beads earned, the Bear badge is presented
· Gold Arrow earned after completing 10 projects in the Wolf or Bear handbook.
· Silver Arrow earned for each add’l 10 elective projects in the same handbooks.
· Earn a different pin for each activity badge completed.
· Compass points emblem: Earned for completing of 4 activity badges in addition to those earned for a Webelos badge (7 in total).
· Webelos colors (optional)
Conservation Award
· Tiger, Cub and Webelo Scouts may earn the World Conservation Award.
Religious emblems
· Tiger, Cub and Webelo Scouts may earn religious emblems. Emblems are worn on formal occasions.
Cub Scout Academics and Sports Program recognition
· Belt loops are worn on the Cub Scout belt only (not for Tigers). Pins may be displayed on the Sports and Academics letter.
